“Field Trip to LAITA Design Center”The NT22 cohort of students participated in a field trip to the LAITA Interdisciplinary Design Center as part of their Design Project 4B Week – focusing on Furniture Design & Fabrication. The visit included an engaging exchange and interaction session with the two co-founders of LAITA Design: Architect Nguyễn Đình Hòa and Architect Nguyễn Thị Thái Hằng.

The sharing session featured two main parts. The first focused on “Introducing different approaches to the process of designing and creating a furniture product.” Then, curiosity was sparked as students were invited to see, hear, and directly interact within the ground floor – the workshop space dedicated to research and development (R&D), also known as the heart of the LAITA Design Center. This part explored “Technical aspects, product imagery, business strategies, and marketing efforts to bring a product to consumers.” LAITA emphasized the importance of user-product interaction, considering it a decisive factor in successful design.

The “Field Trip to LAITA Design Center” concluded in an atmosphere of excitement and enthusiasm, offering students valuable insights into the design process and the core values of Industrial Design and Furniture Design. It served as both a motivational boost and a clearer orientation for their ongoing Design Project 4B and future career paths.
