THE ROAD TO THE ROME 2022: JOURNEY IN ITALY OF INTERIOR STUDENTS - TON DUC THANG UNIVERSITY

On July 31, 2022, a group of 44 fresh & former Interior Design students and instructors from Ton Duc Thang University had a trip to Italy to begin a course in classical design from August 1 to August 29, 2022. The scale of the delegation is regarded as "unprecedented" in history. The members of the team were selected from more than 200 candidates through 3 rounds of competition taking place from November 2021 to April 2022.

The study program aims to provide fundamental knowledge of architectural forms, interiors, landscapes, and so on in ancient Rome and modern Italy. Professor Antonello Alici (Head of the Department of History and Architectural Heritage - UniVpM) is the main instructor, and his collaborators include:


+ PhD. Hoang Le Duy (Head of Interior Design Department of TDTU).

+ PhD. Architect Nguyen Minh Hieu (UniVpM).

+ PhD. Nguyen Thi Minh Dieu (UniVpM).

+ MSc. Nguyen Tang Quang (UniVpM) (TDTU).

"The Road to Rome" is an annual program organized by Ton Duc Thang University and Politecnica delle Marche Italy University, with the support of the Italian Consulate in Ho Chi Minh City, National Library of Rome and many other organizations. The program's bilateral representatives are Prof. Antonello Alici (UniVpM) and PhD. Nguyen Minh Hieu (TDTU)

The practical experience allows students to express their creativity while being mentored directly by teachers. It also allows students to better comprehend the iconic masterpieces in the wonderful city of Rome.
